Refund Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how refunds, cancellations, and billing work for Current Future Labs Inc. ("we," "our," or "Current") services available at getcurrent.ca and app.getcurrent.ca. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Search Credits

1.1 Purchasing Credits

Search credits must be purchased before conducting searches on our platform. We offer two types of credits: Lite Credits and Full Credits, each corresponding to different search capabilities and pricing. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes.

1.2 Credit Expiration

Purchased credits expire 12 months from the date of purchase. Expired credits cannot be refunded, extended, or restored.

1.3 Credit Refunds

All purchases of search credits are final and non-refundable. Credits cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another account. If you believe you were charged in error or experienced a technical issue that prevented you from using your credits, please contact us at billing@getcurrent.ca within 7 days of the issue.

2. Subscriptions

2.1 Subscription Plans

We offer subscription plans on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions may include access to certain features and a number of search credits each billing period. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

2.2 Subscription Credits

Search credits included with your subscription are valid only for the current billing period. Unused subscription credits do not roll over to the next billing period and are forfeited at the end of each period. This is separate from purchased credits, which have a 12-month expiration.

2.3 Free Trials

We may offer free trials or promotional access to our subscription plans. Trial terms will be disclosed at signup. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged.

3. Cancellation

3.1 How to Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings at app.getcurrent.ca or by contacting us at billing@getcurrent.ca. Cancellation requests are processed within 1 business day.

3.2 Monthly Subscriptions

If you cancel a monthly subscription, your cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to subscription features until that date. No refunds or credits are provided for the remaining days in your billing period.

3.3 Annual Subscriptions

Annual subscriptions are paid in advance and are non-refundable. If you cancel an annual subscription, you will retain access to subscription features until the end of your prepaid term, but no pro-rata refund will be provided. If you need to cancel due to exceptional circumstances (e.g., business closure), please contact us and we will work with you on a case-by-case basis.

3.4 Effect of Cancellation

Upon cancellation:

  • You will retain access until the end of your current billing period
  • Any unused subscription credits for that period will be forfeited
  • Your purchased credits (if any) remain valid until their expiration date
  • Your account data will be retained according to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service

4. Refunds

4.1 General Policy

As a general rule, all purchases are final and non-refundable. This includes search credits, monthly subscription fees, and annual subscription fees. We provide this policy because our services involve access to third-party data sources that incur costs upon use.

4.2 Exceptions

We may, at our sole discretion, provide refunds or credits in the following situations:

  • Accidental duplicate purchases (reported within 7 days)
  • Technical errors that prevented you from using the service
  • Service outages that materially affected your ability to use purchased credits
  • Other exceptional circumstances as determined by us

4.3 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us at billing@getcurrent.ca within 7 days of the purchase or issue. Please include:

  • Your account email
  • The date of purchase
  • The amount
  • A description of the issue

We will review your request and respond within 5 business days.

4.4 Refund Method

Approved refunds will be credited to the original payment method. Refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days, depending on your financial institution. In some cases, we may offer account credits instead of a refund.

5. Billing

5.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through our payment processor. We do not store your credit card information.

5.2 Failed Payments

If a subscription renewal payment fails, we will attempt to charge your card again. If payment continues to fail, your subscription may be suspended or cancelled. You are responsible for ensuring your payment information is current.

5.3 Price Changes

We may change our prices from time to time. Price changes for subscriptions will take effect at your next renewal date. We will notify you of any price changes at least 30 days in advance. Your continued use of the service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
