The OBR is the online corporate registry operated by ServiceOntario for incorporating, registering, and searching Ontario businesses. It launched in October 2021, replacing the older ONBIS system, and covers Ontario-incorporated corporations as well as extra-provincial businesses registered to operate in Ontario.
Basic name and status searches on the OBR are free. Corporate profile reports — which include directors, officers, registered office address, and incorporation history — are a paid product through ServiceOntario. Current's $30 flat report includes the Ontario disbursement.
Yes. Directors of Ontario-incorporated corporations are public on the OBR, including full name and address for service. Officer names are typically disclosed on the corporate profile as well.
No. Ontario does not publish Individuals with Significant Control or beneficial-ownership data through the public corporate registry. Ontario corporations must maintain an internal transparency register, but it is not publicly searchable.
